Zoom H2 Recorders Review

Zoom H2 Recorders Review

+ Many settings for recording quality. I use the device primarily to digitize records. I guess with 44.1 kHz sampling frequency and 24 bit resolution, and leave the result with LAME to convert to MP3 files. Apart from the somewhat low sensitivity to the line-in port and you get an excellent quality.

+ The mics are low noise and provide detailed shots.

+ Can be used immediately, without long study of the manual.

+ The support my request was answered within two days – and even understood my question, which nowadays is not obvious.

Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder

- I miss a Hold switch, which disables the controls (to prevent accidental activation).

- The fact that the settings on the SD card can be stored, is annoying if you use more than one card. Changes must then be repeated each time one uses a different card.

- The housing is really not very well made, but what I can get over.

- Even if 4 hours of recording time with a set of batteries as long appears, it is definitely too short. However, a small box of potters in the computer, so of course.

- Too bad that the power supply connector is polarized “left around.” Unlike most power supplies the positive pole is on the outer contact of the plug, not the inner.

From my perspective, the shortcomings of the device in relation to image quality and flexibility are negligible.

After several painful experiences with much more expensive models of other brands that could not hold more or less what the marketing department promised, I decided to buy the new Zoom H2. The following points were decisive for me:
Line-in available input, power with standard AA batteries, or batteries, so you not in the middle of nowhere stands and desperate for an outlet for his Charger looks to an environmentally harmful Li-ion battery recharging, available manual dowry possibility, clear display and logically structured menu and a good built-in microphone and low noise were other criteria.
All these things can easily satisfy the Zoom recorder and especially the last two points make even the 10x devices cost more partly appalling. You can tell that there were genuine practitioners at work and not bored engineers who tried to implement the requirements of marketing only spasmodically. Ingenious is easy to operate, the controls after an hour, even without any instructions. My word on it, it will really understand each!
The microphones are working perfectly, should be offered the Lo-Mid Hi-Sensitivity modes for really keep everyone happy and with a fully charged battery runs through the Small really at least 4 hours.
The available audio modes provide enough reserves for any purpose:
From 48kbps to 320kbps and VBR mp3 and. Wav to 24bit 96kHz the H2 can create and play any format of course. Except for the somewhat small display, a nod to its size

After a year of intensive use of this device, I must also say again that this thing is really top notch.
I use it mainly for my band rehearsals and even during practice micht take. The quality is always really great if you also sometimes think of how the effort is minimal. It is the thing then suppressed, and it runs on record. Have already taken this whole Jazzgigs, and also because the quality was great. Of course you can do so no studio recordings, but that would be a bit much to ask, but to create a well-differentiated and audible recording of a rehearsal room it’s perfect.
Of course, one can thus easily record interviews or lectures, etc. Then simply using the USB cable to the Pc and it is ready.

Best Price and Best Performance, The H2 is a little giant. The images (I use it for choir rehearsals and recordings at gigs, so in very different areas) are top notch and amaze any of it sounds. At first I was pretty much laughed at, but as they heard the shots, it has revised his opinion very quickly. So many settings are possible and even though I am a complete manual mold, I’m mainly relevant details quickly internalized and well thought out in the convenient access and good service specifications described naturally found quickly. The size of the H2 is perfect, fits in your pocket, and is hardly noticeable “stops” even the smallest sounds – great!
The only problem: The included adapter or bracket for the microphone stand fell apart when screwing on the H2, because the owner was not well glued properly. I’m going to have the claim, perhaps because the manufacturer is already known something similar. The device itself is really only recommended, it is certainly not better shots with upmarket appliances.

Finally, the MD recorder is in the closet. If one wants to take his own concerts as a musician, this device is certainly worth a recommendation, since it combines convenience with superior recording quality. In this price sector, there is absolutely nothing like it, the recording quality is very suitable for classical music. So finally is a solution on the market that can compete in their ease of use with the cassette recorder of yesteryear, but the recording quality to CD quality comes and brings even more high-quality microphones, which alone already justify the price. The transfer of data to the computer is finally as easy and simple that they each can (even on a computer novice amateur) handle. The H2 has among musicians with a great future ahead …

P.S. If I wanted something to criticize, then it would be the panel, with the relatively small buttons, which I fear a rapid wear. The energy consumption is high, but within a framework of what is tolerable.

Blue Microphones Yeti Review

Blue Microphones Yeti Review

Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone

This low price is a sonically Sun qualitative result is hardly or not at all in the range of USB microphones. And beyond that, puts the mic not commit to just one possible use, but is a true multi-talent LOUD. Whether you want a stereo microphone, a standard microphone for voice recordings of sound or looks, and “Surround” – is not a problem, so probably also a bit strange sounding THX certification.

Since no one makes the Yeti something. The processing is the material presents a perfectly acceptable, even when the microphone transmits mostly a plastic looking.

Poorly described, but a definite plus, the function output is the output of the Windows sounds on the mic on the headphones connected to and can not only playback of the mic alone. This is particularly interesting for podcasters, when the same shall be included with Windows sound and mic.

There is also still the big brother, named Blue Yeti Pro, whose sole reason for buying the should be, connect the microphone to a mixer and analog to. Experts are now saying, well, clear, correct and consistent connections, and the treatment by phantom power, and so on, but you can save yourself even if you look at a USB micro-purchases instead you can to the headphone output can also be simply a analog source connected to the recording, problem solved.

Negative noticed the knobs and rotary switches, as these – especially the rotary switch – very stiff and are afraid at some point when trying to get a different sound characteristics to change the abort rotary switch. Furthermore, Windows tends to activate the microphone muted again, is the reason why the mute button seems not mechanically.

Who is this microphone should have in mind, At length, however, that the microphone is relatively “huge” and difficult. In order dimensions and all sorts of buttons, it is thus not simply a clever micro spider found, because vibrations (is any other good micro also the case) from the environment without being micro spider are often taken from the micro with joy. In addition, you should also buy one with Popkiller to enjoy the potential of the microphone without disturbing effects can completely.

All in all a top recommendation for podcasters or mobile use.

Yamaha P95B Review

Yamaha P95B Review

Yamaha P95B Digital Piano, Black

I am very satisfied of the product . It has an excellent sound (a “real” piano stands in for nothing). The big advantage: It takes up little space is because it can be stowed away after the games quickly and easily. It is also to be transported without problems. It is a very good device, the keyboard is impeccable and her emotional equivalent of 100% of a piano. The sound is not objectionable as well, but mostly I play with headphones, just without the slightest thing that I would sound etc .
The package includes a stand that is solid, but when putting out the back of the keyboard are still about 4 inches horizontal tube, because the stand is well designed for something broader device and / or synth’s.
The stool is also solid and makes no noise even with slight movements. The headset is absolutely sufficient.
The design of the device is simple and restrained, it is very well made, buttons and knobs, also require a very strong impression.

Casio CDP-100 Review

Casio CDP-100 Review

I must say that the price tag is a bargain! The strength certainly mechanics. Weighted keys that feel real along with act in response effectively. The only drawback’s When i find using these are generally which the MIDI jacks may not be with USB type and  the few notes of polyphony 32 but the price is really cheap. I’m satisfied and  absolutely recommend this to others.

Yamaha NP30 Review

Yamaha NP30 Review

Yamaha NP30 Portable Grand Piano

The keyboard  has a very good value for money. The dynamics of the sound in response to pressure is high, the timbres available are few but beautiful, and environmental reverb stereo with a decent pair of headphones I was astounded by the quality of sound. The only downside (but predictable) on the response to touch of the keyboard do not expect too much, you feel it is a keyboard and a digital piano. On the other hand, the weighted digital piano keyboards belong to a completely different price range! So on the whole excellent. For many users residing outside the limits certainly in the instrument, but it produces on the same. Summing up: The price is torn, the keyboard is lightweight and portable, excellent dynamics, sounds SUPERB.

An excellent digital piano, given the modest price. to combine with a sustain pedal will remark will be able to people who want a classic touch on the keyboard.

Epiphone LP-100 Electric Guitar Review

Epiphone LP-100Review

Epiphone LP-100 Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Ebony

Purchased a month ago, more or less, before writing a comment I wanted to try it good for a month and try it directly in public … boys, and a wonderful! I paired with a 200 watt marshall amp and it sounds crazy. Excellent pick up, I have not found any defect is in the handle and body, light and not tiring because the neck is much thinner than a les paul original … I have to say, from 1 to 10 and 10 give a nice guitar and praise.

Ibanez rga42 Electric Guitar Reviews

Ibanez rga42 electric guitar reviews

Really great guitar! The cost is very low for a guitar that denotes a lot of quality, fixed bridge returns an infinite sustain and a tone that manages to bring out the best guitar active pickups make the guitar is very quiet and very sensitive to the touch, are very versatile, thanks to the switch for the EQ, and you can really bring out many sounds. The pickups are not very bright on high, but they are quality pickups, have nice full bass and middle out. The guitar as it comes from the factory is set very well compared to other models. The neck is thin and allows the parties to play faster without difficulty. The buttons are accessible even in the lowest part of the keyboard. In addition, the fixed bridge keeps the tuning extremely well. It ‘a guitar suitable for playing metal, rock, but blues, jazz and acoustic parts, using an attenuated input (like I do with my head) because of the large output signal from the active pickups. He has really distorted the beautiful, precise and dynamic, and a touch amazing, very sensitive. It has a tone Medios than guitars with passive pickups instead are sweeter and more on the bright trebles. Really great product!
